Check-in and Embarkation Flow

Every cruise booking will be allotted with a designated time for check-in. To avoid over-crowding and congestions in the cruise terminal, every guest is required to follow the allotted timeslot and to arrive on time.

All guests are required to download the ‘MySejahtera’ App for check-in at the cruise terminal prior to boarding Star Pisces. Star Cruises reserves the right to refuse embarkation to any guest(s) who is/are not able to present it.

Check-In at Swettenham Pier Cruise Terminal

  1. Scan the QR Code at the entrance with the ‘MySejahtera’ App prior to entering
  2. Temperature screening, present fully vaccinated status via the ‘MySejahtera’ App* and present completed health declaration form for verification
  3. Proceed to Level 1 for check-in and luggage check-in (if any)
  4. Submit negative COVID-19 ART results to staff at Self-Check-in Kiosk OR Check-In Counter to receive cabin key card
  5. Proceed to Departure Hall and Embark
*Remarks
  • Guests detected with fever / respiratory symptoms / failed the health criteria will be subjected to a second evaluation check by a medical officer and individuals not meeting these criteria will be denied entry
  • Guests are required to present their vaccination record indicating the name, IC or passport number, type and vaccination status at the cruise terminal on the departure date via the 'MySejahtera' App
  • All cruising guests, excluding children 18 years and below, must be fully vaccinated and receive the full regimen of COVID-19 vaccines. As determined by Malaysian Ministry of Health, fully-vaccinated individuals are eligible to cruise:-
    • After 14 days of the second dose of the two-dose vaccines from either Pfizer-BioNtech, AstraZeneca, Sinovac, Moderna or Sinopharm; OR
    • After 28 days of the single dose vaccine from Johnson & Johnson or CanSinoBio
  • If you are a recipient of the COVID-19 vaccine abroad, please download the 'MySejahtera' App to apply for a digital COVID-19 vaccination certificate by clicking on the ‘Helpdesk MySejahtera’ icon and proceed to choosing ‘N’. Kindly be informed guests that are unfit for vaccination, including those with medical certificates will NOT be eligible to cruise on Star Pisces
  • Guests are to present the original and certified hardcopy of the RTK-Ag negative test result for COVID-19 at the cruise terminal on the day of departure, which indicates the name of the guest, the Identification Card / Passport (applicable to foreigners) numbers, as well as the specimen collection date and time (Pre-boarding Antigen Rapid Test Kit (RTK-Ag) for COVID-19 at the cruise terminal is only available until 15 January 2022)

Booking and Check-in

Yes, Star Cruises will be the first cruise line to operate safe cruises in Malaysia with Star Pisces from Penang, starting from 22 December 2021 – 1 April 2022.

With Star Pisces scheduled to commence deployment on 22 December 2021, cruise bookings are available to consumers and are open to all fully-vaccinated Malaysians, foreigners with valid Malaysian long-term visit passes and international tourists that had completed and pass the quarantine and home surveillance order by the Malaysian authorities. In addition, all cruising guests will also have to present a negative test result for COVID-19 by undergoing the mandatory pre-boarding Antigen Rapid Test (ART) at the cruise terminal on the departure date.

Outline below are the detailed requirements to be eligible to cruise:-

  1. Available to all Malaysian citizens, foreigners with valid Malaysian long-term visit passes* and international tourists**
    *Include Permanent Residents (PR), long term pass holder (student pass, dependent pass, long term visit pass and employment pass holders)
    **International tourists that had completed and pass the quarantine and home surveillance order by the Malaysian authorities
    Upon check-in at the terminal:-
    • Malaysians are to present their Malaysian ID cards
    • Foreigners with valid Malaysian long-term visit passes or international tourists are to present their passports and Visa (with a minimum validity of 6 months from the completion date of their cruise). In addition, prior to cruising foreigners under this category are also required to have Health insurance / protection for COVID-19 related treatment on shore side
  2. Must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19
    • All cruising guests, excluding children 18 years and below, must be fully vaccinated and receive the full regimen of COVID-19 vaccines
    • As determined by the Ministry of Health of Malaysia, fully-vaccinated individuals are eligible to cruise:-
      • After 14 days of the second dose of the two-dose vaccines from either Pfizer-BioNtech, AstraZeneca, Sinovac, Moderna or Sinopharm; OR
      • After 28 days of the single dose vaccine from Johnson & Johnson or CanSinoBio
    • Unvaccinated children / youth 18 years and below are eligible to cruise, provided they are accompanied by a fully-vaccinated adult guardian / parent(s)
    • Guests are required to present their vaccination record indicating the name, IC or passport number, type and vaccination status at the cruise terminal on the departure date via the 'MySejahtera' App
    • Kindly be informed guests that are unfit for vaccination, including those with medical certificates will NOT be eligible to cruise on Star Pisces
  3. Must undergo a pre-boarding Antigen Rapid Test (ART) for COVID-19 at the cruise terminal
    • In addition, with effect from 16 January 2022 (Sunday), all embarking Star Pisces guests (regardless of age) will have to make their own personal arrangements to undergo a mandatory self-paid pre-boarding Antigen Rapid Test Kit (RTK-Ag) for COVID-19, which can be conducted at any of the certified medical practitioners (clinics, labs and hospitals) under the Malaysian health authorities
    • Guests are required to take the RTK-Ag test with samples taken within 48 hours of the departure time at 9pm
    • To be eligible to cruise, guests are to present the original and certified hardcopy of the RTK-Ag negative test result for COVID-19 at the cruise terminal on the day of departure, which indicates the name of the guest, the Identification Card / Passport (applicable to foreigners) numbers, as well as the specimen collection date and time. In addition, guests are also required to submit the pre-filled completed Health Declaration form together with the COVID-19 negative test results
    Note: Pre-boarding Antigen Rapid Test Kit (RTK-Ag) for COVID-19 at the cruise terminal is only available until 15 January 2022

Malaysians will only be required to present their Malaysian ID card and foreigners with valid Malaysian long-term visit passes and international tourists will have to present a valid passport with a minimum validity of 6 months of the departure date.

The full-vaccination status of the guest and the pre-boarding negative results for COVID-19 will only need to be presented at the cruise terminal on the day of departure and not during the booking stage.

Note: The Travel Document Requirements are subjected to change upon receiving more updated information.

To be eligible to cruise, fully vaccinated Malaysians and foreigners with valid Malaysian long-term visit passes that had travelled overseas, as well as fully vaccinated international tourists from overseas are eligible to cruise, provided they had completed and pass the quarantine and home surveillance order by the Malaysian authorities and also tested negative for COVID-19 during the mandatory self-paid pre-boarding Antigen Rapid Test Kit (RTK-Ag) for COVID-19, which can be conducted at any of the certified medical practitioners (clinics, labs and hospitals) under the Malaysian health authorities.

Guests are required to take the RTK-Ag test with samples taken within 48 hours of the departure time at 9pm.

Yes. Guests must complete the MANDATORY Online check-in that will be available 90 days prior departure to time. Please ensure the contact details are correct during Online check-in as per the Malaysian Government requirements and protocols.

The holder of the MySejahtera App can load / add on dependents (i.e. children & elders whom does not have phones).

Alternatively, they can register on a book & show proof of their vaccination certificates (original hard copies) at the cruise terminal.

Yes, Star Cruises Future Cruise Credit (FCC) can be used to offset current cruise bookings.

Yes, under the Cruise as You Wish policy, guests have the option to cancel their bookings 48 hours prior to the departure date and will be entitled to Star Cruises Future Cruise Credits via their original booking source.

Under these circumstances, the guest will need to contact their original booking source prior to the departure date to check on the available options and provide the necessary supporting proof documents.
In an event of such an emergency, Star Cruises will inform affected on board guests of the available options based on the respective situation.

Pre-boarding Test

With effect from 16 January 2022 (Sunday), all embarking Star Pisces guests (regardless of age) will have to make their own personal arrangements to undergo a mandatory self-paid pre-boarding Antigen Rapid Test Kit (RTK-Ag) for COVID-19, which can be conducted at any of the certified medical practitioners (clinics, labs and hospitals) under the Malaysian health authorities.

Guests are required to take the RTK-Ag test with samples taken within 48 hours of the departure time at 9pm.

To be eligible to cruise, guests are to present the original and certified hardcopy of the RTK-Ag negative test result for COVID-19 at the cruise terminal on the day of departure, which indicates the name of the guest, the Identification Card / Passport (applicable to foreigners) numbers, as well as the specimen collection date and time. In addition, guests are also required to submit the pre-filled completed Health Declaration form together with the COVID-19 negative test results.

Recovered COVID-19 guests are allowed to cruise, provided they are fully vaccinated and tested negative for COVID-19 during the mandatory pre-boarding Antigen Rapid Test (ART) at the Penang Port (Old terminal) next to Swettenham Pier Cruise Terminal.

Onboard Safety and Preventive Measures

Star Pisces will be operating at reduced capacity of 50% to ensure safe distancing practices. Our on board venues will also be operating at reduced capacity to ensure ample spacing among guests.

During this time, selected on board facilities will be in operations. Services are subject to availability and will on a first come, first served basis.

We will be focusing our attention on the implementation of our health and hygiene guidelines and protocols to provide the safest and most care-free cruise experience with peace of mind for all on board.

We will constantly review our operations and offerings in accordance the local authorities’ requirements to continuously offer our guests additional and exciting services and facilities in the near future.

Most venues do not require bookings.

However for the gym, swimming pools and Jacuzzi, guests will have to make reservations based on given time slots and adhere to the safe distancing measures and the limits of the number of guests for each slot. Guests will need to leave the pool at the end of each designated time slots. Bookings are subject to availability and will be on a first come, first served basis.

Sauna and Steam room are not open based on prevailing national guidelines.

For Specialty restaurants on board the ship, guests will be required to make reservations. Bookings are subject to availability and will be on a first come, first served basis. For inclusive restaurants, guests are required to adhere to the social distancing practices when lining-up with markers available for reference.

Guests will also be given a pre-set timing if the restaurant capacity has reached its peak. In addition, sufficient duration of meal timings is provided to allow more options for guests with informative screens indicating the status and capacity of the dining venues.

At any one time, the number of guests gathering in the cabin cannot exceed the cabin occupancy limit.
Our present on board medical team, which include nurses, 2 doctors including an Infection Control Officer (ICO) on board are certified to manage any emergency or medical crisis with a well-equipped medical facility, including a Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) machine on board for COVID-19 testing, as well as negative pressure Isolation Cabins.
Any on board medical treatments of symptoms related to COVID-19, including COVID-19 testing on the ship, will not be charged to the guest.

Disembarkation

No, post-cruise quarantine and post-cruise COVID-19 testing will not be required should there be no COVID-19 related incidents.
